Event organiser of the monthly talks for the Friends of the Botanic Gardens (FOBG), Lothar Ross, said it was a great opportunity to learn the tricks and tips for creating a productive garden.

The talk will be presented by Cairns Regional Council gardener Sarah Gosling (right) on Wednesday 8 April.

The evening starts with a light supper at 6pm before the 6.30pm talk, followed by the chance to ask questions.

No bookings are needed, just pay at the door, with FOBG members $5 and non-members $10.

Mr Lothar said vegetables, herbs and spices grown in the tropics could be seen at ‘Green Space Our Place’ next to Jess Mitchell Park on Greenslopes St, which is open to the public Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9.30am to noon.

The FOBG talks are held the second Wednesday of the month.
