Hospital board invitation
EXPRESSIONS of interest for 2026 appointments to the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) board have opened.
The boards play a critical role in providing oversight, governance and accountability across hospital and health services to ensure the organisation has appropriate systems and processes to safely deliver services.
This round of appointments will see at least one frontline clinician appointed to the board of every health service, fulfilling the Queensland Government 2024 election commitment and new legislative requirements.
CHHHS chairman Chris Boland said joining a hospital and health board was an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in the community.
“As chairman of the Cairns and Hinterland HHS board, I’ve seen firsthand how dedicated board members drive better health outcomes for Far North Queensland,” Mr Boland said.
“We need passionate individuals from all walks of life to nominate now and help shape the future of our local healthcare system.”
