The play by Michael Pertwee and John Roy Chapman runs at the Rondo Theatre on Greenslopes Street from 20-28 February, with matinees on 22 and 28 February.

Directed by Frank Joel, the play opens at 7.30pm today and runs for a season of eight performances. The matinees are at 1.30pm.

Set in Portugal, the farce centres on a timeshare holiday that has been double-booked.

Two flirtatious couples are planning an illicit ‘naughty’ break away from home and have placed their bookings in the hands of a myopic, Colonel Blimp-type character, recently arrived from Old Blighty.

His confusion adds to the comedy, which is further exaggerated by each couple mistaking the other for the hired help.

When supposed friends and relatives unexpectedly turn up, all hell breaks loose and mayhem unfolds.

Laughter is assured in what producers describe as a fast-paced, hilarious farce which never stops.

‘Holiday Snap’ piles hilarious complications, language misunderstandings and an ever-increasing frenetic pace on top of the existing chaos and seems a recipe for disaster.

In one scene, Celia declares: “I might just take a little dip in the pool, everybody. I said a dip, not a nip. I don’t have a drinking problem.”

The production features Carey Leahy as the staid but eccentric proverbial mother-in-law, serving as an innocent foil to the goings-on of her fellow cast members. Alice Bosenquet also takes command of Tiago Flores as confusion and innuendo unfold on stage.
