The performance will feature local acts Phoebe Jacobs and Owen Jacobs Band as support.

The band is led by vocalist and songwriter Mish Cat Davie, who described the show as “quite emotive…classic rock with a bit of a metal edge…loud…raw…unapologetic.”

The latest single ‘Dark Circus’ inspired the tour’s name, referencing lyrics about “striking free from chains.”

HER was formed after Mish returned to music following a hiatus to raise her children.

The band initially drew on songs from Ms Davie’s previous Melbourne-based metal band Steel, before she and partner Jerome Smith began writing new material together.

Since relocating to Cairns two years ago, the band has established a full local lineup, including Brett Wilkinson on drums, Danny Johnson on guitar and Jerome Smith on bass.

“Elixir is really the only original music venue supporting original music,” she said, noting the show will start with Phoebe Jacobs’ soulful performance, followed by Owen Jacobs Band and HER.

The band plans to record a new album with German engineer Stefan Gantiola, who worked on Dark Circus.
