After 21 rounds the Cricket Far North finals are upon the region, seeing multiple blockbuster match-ups and making for a huge upcoming grand final weekend on 21 and 22 March.

The division 1 season saw a clear two-horse race with Barron River and Mulgrave Cricket only being separated by one point on the ladder, while being 20 points clear of third place.

With a dominant season by both clubs, they now face off against each other in the division one grand final after Barron Rivers three-wicket win in the semi-final.

With only one of the three potential match-ups between these two teams being played this year, the game is hugely anticipated.

The division three grand final sees the third place Mareeba Bandits taking on fourth place Bhutanese Rovers side.

Both teams pulled off tremendous victories in their semi-finals, with Mareeba downing the second place Mulgrave squad by 50 runs and the Bhutanese Rovers taking down first-place Barron River by 11 runs in a nail-biting affair.

These two sides have faced off three times already this season, with Mareeba having the edge winning the season series 2-1, but the Bhutanese squad aren’t worried about previous results and are only focusing on the big dance.

The second and fourth division games were unfortunately abandoned over the weekend due to the heavy rain, but Cricket Far North are working tirelessly to find a catch-up date and book the winning sides into their grand finals.
