Hear the blues at The Tanks
THREE-TIME Grammy-nominated blues musician Eric Bibb has announced his 2026 Australian tour, coinciding with the release of his new album One Mississippi on 30 January through Repute Records.
Mr Bibb’s second single from the album, ‘Muddy Waters’, pays tribute to the legendary bluesman of the same name. Recorded in Sweden with producer Glen Scott, the track features Robbie McIntosh on electric slide guitars, dobro and resonator, Paul Jones on harp, Sven Lindvall on tuba and Mr Bibb on vocals and acoustic guitar.
“So happy to have Paul Jones and Robbie McIntosh onboard,” Mr Bibb said.
“Muddy Waters is one of my favourite tracks from my new album One Mississippi. Glen Scott’s production is a masterclass in funk.”
The single draws on themes of travel and perseverance, traversing the heartlands of American blues from Houston to Baton Rouge.
The 2026 tour will see Mr Bibb perform across Australia with his full band in April and May. He will be in Cairns on 2 May at Tanks Arts Centre.
