Health’s billion-dollar Cairns baby
QUEENSLAND Health has revealed a striking image of its new health and innovation centre for the corner of Grove and Lake streets, Cairns.

It also has outlined its other buildings away from the Esplanade site on land that will have to be acquired from businesses and organisations such as the CWA, Red Cross, the Cock n Bull pub, Bay Village and unit and apartment buildings.

It could also mean the closure of Lake St between Gatton and Grove streets in years to come.
The first stage, expected to start later this year for completion by 2031, includes:
A multi-storey car park for staff (Grove and Digger streets)
Health management hub (Digger St)
New helipad (D block).
