Operating until August 22, guests will be able to enjoy a dedicated whale watching experience on the Great Barrier Reef with panoramic ocean views from all three decks of the spacious Aquarius II, the new 26m, 240-passenger purpose-built vessel, acquired by Reef Unlimited parent company Experience Co. in March.

In addition to the whale watching, a highlight will be the two-and-a-half hours of free time on Fitzroy Island – a popular spot for Cairns locals, with Nudey Beach recently named among the world’s top 50 beaches for 2025.

Led by qualified marine biologists, the new tours will provide captivating insights into whale migratory patterns, communication, anatomy, diet and population status. One option runs from 8.30am to 2pm, with the other from 10.45am to 2pm. Both depart from the Cairns Marina.

Experience Co. chief executive John O’Sullivan said witnessing the spectacular migration of the majestic humpback whales off the east coast of Cairns was a truly magical experience.

“To have almost three hours of relaxation and exploration on stunning Fitzroy Island as part of the tour is an added benefit,” he said.
