Have you heard the Rumours? Rondo is back
ALL the rumours are true, the Rondo Theatre season opener Rumours directed by Narelle Shorey is a hilarious and chaotic farce that will enchant audiences with its clever humour and charming cast.

Rondo has started its platinum jubilee with a literal bang, kicking off their season with Rumours originally by playwright Neil Simon, the story of a fancy wedding anniversary party gone wrong where reputation is valued more than life itself resulting in the most hysterical chain of gossip and rumours so absurd that will have you flabbergasted.
Kicking off with the main couple Chris and Ken, played splendidly by Natalie Crow and Shawn Brack, arriving to the party host Charlie bleeding with a gunshot to his ear, no cooks or butlers, an unprepared meal and his wife Vivian missing, the two socialites decide that what’s best is to protect the reputation of their friend and deputy mayor.
As couples begin to arrive and the lies start to pile up, absurdity starts reigning over the set while audiences will try their hardest to piece together the puzzle on what happened to Charlie and Vivian.
With a beautiful set and outfits that transport you back to the 80s, the experienced cast slowly but surely guide your descent into madness in a masterful way; it’s hard to pick one favourite moment or character but I personally would have to highlight Len Cumming’s, played by Wayne Hogan, monologue at the end as my personal favourite because of its cleverness and increasingly implausible and hilarious story.
Rumours has brought a powerhouse cast with the quirkiness of Cookie and Ernie, played by Alicia Clark and Ken Shorey, the cool attitude and sarcastic humour of Claire and Len, performed by Race Redomra and Wayne Hogan, and the chaotic problem solvers in Chris and Ken, played by Natalie Crowe and Shawn Brack.
There is something for every comedy lover, physical comedy, sarcasm, absurdity, and very high-end humour with Rumours. So if you managed to grab a ticket before they sold out, don’t miss out on this season’s theatre debut as it will surely have you in stitches from beginning to end.
