Gryffs are No.1
GRYFFINDORS have dominated the senior basketball grand finals, with three divisions deciding their champions across the night on Monday.

In division 1 men, Gryffindors defeated To Be Determined 66-40.
Cairns Basketball general manager Luca Vergari said the match was tight until late in the second quarter before Gryffindors began to pull away.
“The young fella, Thurston Bosuen from Gryffindors, was the standout with 26 points,” he said.
For To Be Determined, Bryce Chapman scored 32 of the team’s 40 points.
Mr Vergari said Gryffindors had continued their strong form.
“Gryffindors are reigning champions, so they’ve continued on their winning streak,” he said.
He said that the team planned to split into two squads next season, after several years of success.
In division 1 women, Gryffindor secured a 36-31 win over United. For United, Leah Pearson scored 17 points, while for Gryffindor, Breanna Edgerton finished with 11.
Mr Vergari said the match stayed close throughout.
“It was relatively low scoring, but it was close all the way through, and United had been quite dominant all season,” he said.
In the division 3 men’s final, Heavy Bomber edged out The Bricks 44-41.
Heavy Bomber’s top scorer was Sean Florimo with 21 points, while for The Bricks, Christopher Dudink finished with 18.
Division 2 women’s NB Heat Lava dominated Fusions 120-25. Ava Notman was the top scorer for Fusions with seven points.
In division 2 men, NB Heat beat Blazers 71-40, with Alan Barnes contributing 21 points. The Division 4 men’s match saw The Slam Drunks claim a 32-25 victory over Barron Bricklayers, while Kyll Wright top-scored for the losing side.
