Great race is about to start
SOME of the fitness people are gearing up for one of the toughest races at Gordonvale tomorrow (Saturday, August 2).

The Woolworths Great Pyramid Race starts at 8am from Norman Park.
Event co-ordinator Renee Edwards said there would be massive markets, food stalls, free face painting, giveaways, massive raffles and so much more.
The 66th event was launched last Friday at The Mountain View Hotel.
“The launch party was an exciting night bringing together key community members, past competitors, sponsors and committee,” Ms Edwards said.
“Attendees enjoyed food, drinks and were treated to a runners panel of four past and present runners, including 2024 race winner Joshua Chugg,” she said.
“MC was Tammy Barker from Triple M Breakfast who kept the crowd entertained all night.
“The energy on the night reflected the spirit of the race.
“It’s more that just a run up Walshs Pyramid, it's a celebration of our town and the people who make this event possible year after year.”
Ms Edwards said Woolworths had indicated a further three year commitment as major sponsor after tomorrow’s event.
She said another sponsor, who remained anonymous at this stage, had committed to sponsoring The Half Pyramid Race for the next three years.
“We have also had all of our smaller races sponsored this year by Terry James MP, Mountain View Hotel and Intrust Group,” Ms Edwards said.
