Gig for Gaza nets $12,000
KURANDA Amphitheatre came alive on Sunday as more than 820 people gathered for the Gig for Gaza 2025, marking one of the largest Gaza fundraiser concerts in Australia and the most significant event in Kuranda in the past two years.

The second annual event quadrupled last year’s turnout and is expected to raise over $10,000, possibly closer to $12,000, for PANZMA, an Australian and New Zealand charity that sends doctors directly into Gaza’s conflict zones.
Food and drink stalls also donated their profits to boost the total.
Organiser April Petitpays said not only funds were raised, but awareness too, which was just as important.
“We’re hoping we won’t need to hold a third gig, but until Palestine is free, we will continue to stand in solidarity,” she said.
The concert featured performances from renowned hip-hop artist Mau Power, who said he supported the cause because of his own community’s history of discrimination and genocide.
Three Palestinian speakers also shared personal accounts and historical context.
