Get warm and cuddly under the raintrees
BEANIES & Brownies fundraiser will return for the fourth year on Tuesday 24 June from 6am to 9am under the raintrees in Mossman.

Mossman Support Services is inviting the community to start their day with a warm heart and a hot breakfast as part of the popular community fundraiser that has raised more than $1500 for the Mark Hughes Foundation over the past three years, helping support vital brain cancer research and awareness across Australia.
Beanies & Brownies has become a favourite winter tradition for many locals, offering an opportunity to stop in on the way to work, enjoy a cuppa, connect with others and support a worthy cause.
Visitors can enjoy a free slow-brewed hot chocolate, purchase a delicious homemade brownie, grab a bacon and egg roll and browse a beautiful collection of handmade knitted beanies and baby blankets, all crafted with love by local volunteers and community members.
Mossman Support Services culture and communications coordinator Holly Todd said the organisation appreciated the CWA, Jenni Walker, Jancie and Kirsty from the 2025 Oh Sew Crafty sewing group and other community members who had contributed handmade beanies to the fundraiser over the years.
“Their generosity and community spirit continue to make this event possible,” she said.
“One of the things we love most about Beanies & Brownies is seeing the community come together.
“It’s a chance to slow down, catch up with neighbours, warm your hands around a hot chocolate and support an important cause. Every beanie, brownie and donation helps make a difference.”
Handmade beanies will be available for just $10 each, with all proceeds from beanie and brownie sales going directly to the Mark Hughes Foundation.
This year, visitors will also have the opportunity to buy hand-knitted and crocheted baby blankets lovingly crafted by local community member Colleen (surname withheld).
Every purchase helps support brain cancer research while celebrating the generosity and creativity of our local community. Whether you’re looking for breakfast on the run, a handmade gift, or simply an opportunity to connect with your community on a cool winter morning, Beanies & Brownies offers something for everyone.
Mossman Support Services invites residents, businesses, families and visitors to stop by, share a cuppa and help make a difference in the fight against brain cancer.
