Gallery’s art schedule
CAIRNS Art Gallery has opened bookings for a series of school holiday workshops and upcoming art courses for children, teenagers and adults.

The holiday program begins on Monday 29 June with Miniature Worlds led by artist Narelle Wilson for children aged 9-14. Ms Wilson will also present Figurines with Armature Wire and Clay on 30 June, Creature Creations for ages 5-9 on 1 July and Creatures of the Imagination for ages 9–14 later the same day.
Artist Lachlan Judd will lead comic-themed workshops on 2 July, including Comic Book Character Factory for children aged 5-9 and Comic Book Character Team Building for ages 9-14.
Adult classes continue with a life drawing session led by artist Sue Schreiber on 4 July, followed by her six-week Advanced Soft Pastels course beginning 15 July.
Artist Maharlina Gorospe-Lockie will present a two-day Abstract Acrylics workshop on 18 July.
The gallery’s Term Three program includes two eight-week courses for participants aged 14 and over. Judd’s Comic Book and Manga Creations course begins 30 July, while Keelie Nicholls will lead Painting and Creative Portfolio Building from 31 July.
Bookings are now open through Cairns Art Gallery, with classes catering for a range of ages and artistic interests during the school holiday period and into Term Three.
