Frequency focus
A SIX-artist lineup led by Australian singer/songwriter Dana Gehrman will take to Tank 5 at the Tanks Arts Centre this Friday 6 March for Female Frequency, a live music event celebrating women in music ahead of International Women’s Day.

Female Frequency brings together a cross-section of female artists shaping the local and national scene, with Ms Gehrman headlining alongside Tessa Devine, Tullara, Phoebe Jacobs, Miss Tee and an outdoor sunset set from Candice Bliss from 6pm. The main show begins at 7pm.
Ms Gehrman said it was rare to see so many women sharing the same bill.
“It is always wonderful to meet and perform with new female artists and it is so rare to have a lineup with six women on the bill, so I am incredibly chuffed to be a part of this event and I know it will be an inspiring experience,” she said.
Performing solo with her Telecaster, Ms Gehrman said audiences could expect a mix of material.
“I will be performing solo, me and my Telecaster.
“The audience can expect a mix of old and new songs and a blend of styles. Maybe some special group performance as well, but I do not want to give too much away.”
Singer-songwriter Tullara said sharing the stage with fellow artists, including close friend Tessa Devine, made the event particularly meaningful.
“I cannot wait to perform in Female Frequency this Friday, especially alongside one of my best friends and favourite artists of all time, Tessa Devine,” she said.
“It is a beautiful feeling to celebrate being a woman and it is so important to have calendar days like International Women’s Day that focus on really admiring, respecting and appreciating all of the women around us.”
Female Frequency runs for approximately three hours. Tickets are available through Ticketlink: www.bit.ly/4rqryhX for $35 or at the door for $40, with unreserved seating and standing available.
