First ‘enlightening’ 90 days in real estate
I WAS always a little hesitant to start working in real estate as the representation on television and online seemed very superficial, with the flashy cars and fake smiles.

However, I really liked the idea of working in this industry, and wanted to try it, so I persevered. I studied from home and passed my real estate licence and applied for my first job in real estate.
The first 90 days have shown that success, like any career, comes from persistence, discipline and consistent effort.
It’s the quiet dedication of those around me who commit to doing the work properly that stands out and witnessing that professionalism has made the experience more rewarding than I anticipated.
Much of the work revolves around good communication, developing people skills, making calls and answering questions that can sometimes be a little uncomfortable because I don’t know all the answers yet.
Mistakes happen and plans change at short notice but each day I learn more and grow.
These experiences are humbling, but they’ve reinforced that honesty and perseverance really matter.
Showing up, following through, doing what you say you will, is very important.
Real estate is unlike any other job I have had, what you put in, you get back.
Shortcuts don’t lead to success, especially in a relationship-based career.
The first 90 days have flown by and I can’t wait to see what the next 90 days has to offer.
