Fired up Indigenous round
THE All Stars men and ISP women have won the AFL Cairns Indigenous round annual Genesis Health and Fitness All Stars clashes under lights at Cazalys Stadium on Friday 22 May.

After a successful event in 2025 across both men’s and women’s matches, this year’s edition was set to be a cracking night of Footy in Paradise.
The night kicked off with a brilliant performance by local dancers, Sand and Sea prior to the women’s match.
After a scintillating draw in 2025, this year’s edition of the women’s clash was set to be mouth-watering.
ISP women’s (coach Jason Wray) started off on fire, led on field by North Cairns coach and star player Luana Healey, who kicked the first major of the match.
From there it was all one-way traffic. Throwing themselves at every contest, the All Stars had little answers for the ISP women. A few magnet switches banked the All Stars first goal thanks to their best on ground player Ella Johnston in the fourth quarter.
However, it wasn’t enough to keep them in the game, with the ISP women closing it out, taking away a strong 32-point victory.
Luana Healey was best on ground with 23 disposals, three clearances and two goals.
If the action was intense in the women’s match, the men came out and turned up the heat in their clash.
After a disappointing loss in 2025, Travis Thorne (NCT) had his ISP men fired up at the first bounce, while over at the All Stars Luke Sommerville (CTB), coaching in his first match, set the scene for his troops.
The All Stars dominated the early going, but were unable to put a gap on, kicked five straight behinds before Louis Campbell-Kossack broke the minor score run with the first major of the game for the ISP side.
In a see-sawing affair, the All Stars at times looked like they were going to break the game apart, however the ISP men continued to mount pressure on their opponents, kicking the last three in the second term to close the margin back to six points at the major break.
The game continued in the fashion for the rest of the match with plenty of highlights, none more than one of the ‘almost’ great marks by Louis Cambell-Kossack.
Unfortunately for him, it didn’t stick and the All Stars hung on to claim a solid victory in a great hit out under lights at Cazalys.
The final scores were All Stars men 61 to ISP men 55 and ISP women 40 to All Stars women 8.
