‘Fat’ comedian on yacht sailing to Far North
COMEDIAN Urzila Carlson will bring her brand-new show ‘Fatty On a Yacht’ to Cairns as part of her 2026 Australian tour.
The South African-New Zealander entertained more than 86,500 Australians this year and will return with her signature deadpan delivery and understated punchlines.
The show explores “not fitting in, standing out and laughing about it anyway,” and is for anyone who has ever felt out of place.
Ms Carlson will launch her tour at Melbourne’s iconic Palais Theatre during the 2026 Melbourne International Comedy Festival and her Cairns show is scheduled for Saturday 22 August 2026 at the Cairns Convention Centre.
In 2025, Ms Carlson won the people’s choice award for most tickets sold at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for the fourth time, having previously won in 2019, 2022 and 2023.
Last year, she also starred in Netflix and Happy Madison’s rom-com ‘Kinda Pregnant’, which was viewed 25.1 million times in its first week, becoming the number one movie globally during that period.
The film later ranked 12th in Netflix’s January-June 2025 report, with 58.9 million views.
