Family Halloween food festival
FAMILIES are invited to celebrate Halloween in style this Saturday 31 October, as the Prawn Star Barron River Food Festival returns to Stratford with a spectacular evening of food, live entertainment, family activities and fireworks.

Following its postponement due to wet weather, the much-anticipated festival will take place from 4pm to 9pm at Stratford Dolphins Football Club, bringing together local food vendors, entertainers and the community for a Halloween-themed celebration.
With a program of food, music, roving performers, costume competitions and family-friendly activities, the festival promises something for everyone – whether visitors come dressed as witches and monsters or simply arrive hungry and ready to enjoy the atmosphere.
“After having to postpone due to the wet weather, we’re thrilled to be bringing the festival back this Saturday with an extra dose of Halloween fun,” said Kane Brown, The Festival Guy.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming the Cairns community for an evening celebrating great food, local talent and the people who make our region such a wonderful place to live. With so much happening throughout the evening, it’s the perfect opportunity for families and friends to come together and enjoy a special event with a Halloween twist.”
The festival will feature an impressive showcase of flavours, with a line-up of 20 local food vendors serving street eats, global cuisines and desserts.
Highlights include favourites such as The Prawn Place, El Taco Burro, The Flavours of India, Tony’s Pizza and Hasan’s Kebabs on Grafton, alongside sweet offerings from OMG Donuts and Baked by Bri.
Adults can enjoy dedicated beverage zones.
Halloween will take centre stage, with visitors encouraged to dress up and enter the best-dressed costume competition, with prizes on offer.
Local band Vandelay will take to the stage from 6.30pm, with fireworks at 7.30pm.
