The exhibitions will be presented across the Mulgrave Gallery and the Court House Gallery and are the first to be housed at both heritage-listed sites as part of the precinct’s expanded footprint.

Opening in the Mulgrave Gallery is ‘Zanny Begg: These stories will be different’, which features some of the artist’s most significant video installations.

The exhibition, which will be open until 2 May, presents works that explore traditional conventions and contested histories, with several pieces using non-linear video structures that generate thousands of possible narrative variations.

The Court House Gallery will host the Flying Arts Alliance Queensland Regional Arts Awards 2025 until 2 May.

The exhibition showcases artists living in remote and regional Queensland and explores means of reflection in a fast-paced society.

A gallery spokeswoman said the exhibitions represented a milestone moment for the organisation, with the use of three heritage-listed buildings enabling new opportunities to present major exhibitions and support artists from across Australia.

The opening of the Mulgrave Gallery and the Court House Gallery as exhibition spaces marks the first time the Cairns Art Gallery precinct has operated across all three sites simultaneously.
