Fashion’s golden girl shines spotlight on Amateurs carnival

Set for the highly anticipated return of Cairns Amateurs Carnival in September this year, one of Australian racing fashion’s most awarded competitors and sought-after judges, Em Scodellaro has been named the event’s 2021 Carnival Ambassador.

Having judged Cairns Amateurs’ Fashions on the Field (FOTF) in 2019, along with last year’s inaugural virtual fashion competition, Ms Scodellaro has all the credentials to make an impact at the track in 2021.

Cairns Amateurs Carnival’s event manager Victoria Jennings said they are thrilled to announce Emma as this year’s ambassador.

“Em is not only stunning and successful, but she is also a warm and engaging person who lifts and inspires others and for this reason we think she is perfectly suited to the role of Carnival Ambassador,” Ms Jennings said.

Along with her winning looks both on and off the field, Ms Scodellaro is well known in fashion circles for her digital platform, It’s All About the Sash, which she cites her greatest achievement.

“I created It’s All About the Sash to be a supportive, inclusive platform for likeminded others, which from the outset, has been embraced for promoting friendship, sharing ideas and a catalogue of winning Fashions on the Field competitors at home and abroad.  This is pretty much the ‘go to’ page or platform for anyone who is interested in racing fashion, and it is something I am really proud of.

“Fashions on the Field have been my absolute passion for so long now and through my social platforms I aim to educate, promote and contribute to the development of racing fashion events not only in Australia but prior to COVID, worldwide.  I absolutely love Cairns and the Cairns Amateurs, and I cannot wait to get back up there to fly the flag in my role as ambassador.  I am truly honoured,” she said.

Added to her involvement in Fashions on the Field, Emma works as a collectables curator which has built on her previous career of almost two decades in education. Away from racetrack and catwalk she also loves spending time with family, styling her personal race wear looks, promoting authenticity in fashion and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.

“For more than 60 years this event has been the major racing and social networking event in Australia’s Far North so it is an absolute honour to be its 2021 ambassador and I cannot wait to attend.

“We will use this opportunity to leverage opportunities and exposure throughout networks to promote Cairns, the region and the fun, fashion and racing action of what is destined to be a thrilling Cairns Amateurs Carnival,” Ms Scodellaro said.
