Social media lit up when news broke regarding parent company Southern Cross Austereo’s nationwide changes to their breakfast format.
Loyal listeners rallied on social media, calling it a sad day for the local community as well as thanking both announcers for being a part of their morning for the past two years
Carly and Seamus will be replaced by a Queensland wide breakfast show from Townsville.
Southern Cross Austereo reported a significant drop in advertising revenues, 18.9% decline for the 2019 – 2020 financial year.
The reduction in local content across Queensland is a worry for locals, fearing a reduction to community coverage leading to potential issues during time of natural disaster.
