Fashionable return for Cairns Amateurs Carnival

The much-loved social facet of Cairns Amateurs Carnival will be at its sparkling best in 2021 with the return of ‘Cairns Amateurs Cairns Central Fashions on the Field competition.

Long-time sponsor, Cairns Central returns as naming partner for this year’s hotly contested and highly anticipated Cairns Amateurs’ Fashions on the Field (FOTF) to be held on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 September 2021 at Cannon Park Racecourse.

“We’ve proudly sponsored Fashions on the Field for some time. As the Far North’s premier shopping destination for fashion and beauty, Cairns Central is pleased to continue its partnership with Cairns Amateurs.

“While it was great to be able to support last year’s digital version of the fashion competition it is so exciting to get back on track and enjoy the colourful spectacle firsthand,” said Cairns Central Marketing Manager, Louise Struber.

Cairns Amateurs Carnival has secured three of Australia’s most awarded Fashions on the Field (FOTF) competitors, Emma Scodellaro, Neil Carpenter and Hamish Lardi to judge this year’s most fashionable men and women.

In a bid to up the fashion stakes for this year’s sartorial clash, Cairns Amateurs’ FOTF committee went to the top of the style podium to assemble its new judging panel with impeccable qualifications.

According to Cairns Amateurs Carnival Event Manager Victoria Jennings, Emma, Neil and Hamish have been vested an important role, not just to cast their expert eyes over entrants’ online entries, but importantly, ensure the event continues its tradition and is a true reflection of contemporary trends, style and elegance.

“With Cairns Amateurs contestants regularly taking line honours at Randwick and Flemington we know Cairns is up with the best which is why we painstakingly thought and sought two new judges to join this year’s Ambassador Emma Scodellaro,” Ms Jennings said.

Competition criteria is based on style and originality, interpretation of latest trends, appropriateness of race wear for a spring carnival in Cairns, attention to detail, style, design and quality of workmanship of millinery, grooming and deportment.
