Dive beyond the waves at Children's Festival

Beyond the Waves is a new puppetry and visual theatre work from the creative team at ARC ARTS that will premiere this Sunday, 16 May at Cairns Children’s Festival.

Finn and Sheba are forever besties – yet Finn is a bit of a scaredy cat. Sheba doesn’t mind.

Then, on one unsuspecting day in FNQ, Finn and Sheba are enjoying a day at the beach when all of a sudden, they are swept up in a world of magic. Who knows what happens next?

Beyond the Waves is a production by ARC Disability Services in collaboration with Dead Puppets Society and Cairns Regional Council.

The Cairns Children’s Festival provides a providing a safe and fun environment for families and children aged 12 years and under to explore, create and imagine.

Events and activities will be held across two days at Cairns Performing Arts Centre and Cairns Court House gallery on Saturday May 15 and Tanks Arts Centre on Sunday May 16.

The Boat Shed is a free art and craft ‘boat’ making event at Cairns Court House Gallery with artists-in-residence Sorami Ochi and Hayley Gillespie on Saturday May 15, from 10am to 4pm.

Ticketed shows at Cairns Performing Arts Centre on Saturday May 15 feature the widely acclaimed theatre performance, Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo at 11am, 1pm and 7pm and family comedy CHORES on Saturday 15 May at 10am and 12noon. Book at www.ticketlink.com.au.

Regurgitator’s Pogogo stage show headlines day two of Children’s Festival along with a host of other free and fun activities at Tanks Arts Centre starting from 10am.
