The Sydney-born duo, made up of Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes, is touring regional Queensland and New South Wales for the first time in their career as part of the national tour.

Mr Mayes said the group was looking forward to finally taking the full-scale live show beyond the capital cities.

“We’re really excited to do a regional tour, and it’s really something that we always wanted to do, and we just never really had the right time,” he said.

“But like, now that we’re putting out a new album, it’s exciting to come to places.”

PNAU recently announced their seventh studio album, ‘AHHCade’, set for release on 31 July 2026 via etcetc.

PNAU has built an international following through decades of releases, collaborations and chart success, including tracks such as ‘Chameleon’ and ‘Go Bang’.

The group also achieved worldwide success with ‘Cold Heart’ (PNAU Remix) featuring Elton John and Dua Lipa, which topped the UK official singles chart and the ARIA singles chart.

Mr Mayes said the duo’s music was driven less by chasing trends and more by a shared emotional energy.

“There’s just a feeling and an essence of positivity and joy that we just unconsciously put into our music without really thinking about it,” he said.

“When you hear something, you know, when it’s a PNAU song, it’ll just have that uplifting, joyful, euphoric thing.”

The producer also reflected on previous visits to Far North Queensland, including a memorable stop at Mossman Gorge.

“It was just so beautiful. The water was so fresh and clear, like, straight off the mountain,” he said.

“Getting to do things like that in more remote places of Australia that are not your usual capital city thing is so great.”

According to tour organisers, The Nirvana Tour will bring “world-class production, huge songs and the scale and sensory rush of a major headline show” to regional venues.

Mr Mayes said the group was eager to reconnect with regional audiences and explore more of Queensland during the tour.

“We’re so happy to come back,” he said.

“There’s so many places we’re going that I’ve never been. I don’t think I’ve ever been to Airlie Beach or Bundaberg. So I’m very excited to see all these places and meet the people and play music for you guys.”
