Electric ants detected in Earlville
A NEW electric ant infestation was detected at Earlville’s “The Parks” Retirement Village in October.

The detection came after Village management invited Program staff to present an information session to the residents, several of whom subsequently booked their yards in for a free check.
The yard checks and surveillance of the communal areas was conducted soon after, with the field team detecting electric ants at several locations in the Village.
The Program is now working to establish the extent of the spread, and it is hoped that the first round of treatment of these highly invasive ants will commence in the coming weeks.
Over 40 per cent of all electric ant infestations are detected as a result of contact initiated by a member of the community.
Electric ant presentations are offered to residential and community groups, schools and businesses free, and can be tailored to suit your venue and available timeslot.
