Eco-tours an electric ‘buzz’
NEW private exclusive tours have been launched by Tropic Wings using an electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz.

The company says it is the first fully-electric vehicle of its kind to be used for day touring in Tropical North Queensland.
This latest addition expands the company’s existing fleet of 13 fully-electric vehicles, further strengthening its commitment to reducing emissions and leading the way in eco-friendly tourism.
Tropic Wings general manager Colin Anderson said the ID. Buzz delivered zero-emission travel in premium comfort, providing guests with a stylish and environmentally responsible way to experience the region.
“This aligns seamlessly with Tropic Wings’ cultural, environmental and wildlife conservation experiences, ensuring sustainability sits at the heart of every itinerary,” he said.
“Over recent years we’ve been working hard to grow our electric fleet, with the long-term goal of operating 80% of our vehicles on electricity by 2028,” he said.
“The addition of the ID. Buzz, not only introduces a new level of comfort and style, but it also shows our guests they can travel sustainably without compromising on quality. Each tour is accompanied by a private driver-guide who offers personalised insights, expert local knowledge and the flexibility to explore at your own pace.”
The tours include the Atherton Tablelands, a Kuranda itinerary involving gold class on the scenic railway, Daintree and Cape Tribulation with native wildlife encounters and Mossman Gorge.
