Written and directed by Cath Willacy, the show puts a Far North Queensland twist on the classic tale.

The story follows Snow White as she escapes her evil stepmother, Queen Malice, who seeks to marry the wealthy Prince for his fortune.

With the help of her court jester Muddles and a Magic Mirror, the Queen plots to get rid of Snow White.

The heroine finds refuge with seven tradies building a display home, leading to laughs, songs, dances and plenty of bad jokes along the way.

Rondo Theatre president Frank Joel said preparations were in full swing, with strong backing from the local business community.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible support from our local Cairns business community,” he said.

A sensory-friendly performance with reduced lighting and lower volumes will take place on Saturday, 6 December at 1pm.

Rondo Theatre, a not-for-profit community-based organisation run by volunteers, also encourages supporters to become financial members.

Memberships help maintain the theatre, support grant applications, provide voting rights at the AGM and include benefits such as discounted drinks at the Rondo Bar, invitations to play readings and club nights and volunteer worker insurance coverage.

Tickets are on sale now at www.bit.ly/47Mdpox or via Last Call Ticketing on 0415 822 333, and the theatre expects a sell-out show. For more information, visit the Rondo Theatre website or email membership@therondo.com.au
