The Palm Cove Annual Dog Show returns on Sunday (May 18), offering a morning of light hearted competition, four-legged fashion and community fun – all in support of a great cause.

Held at the Palm Cove Tavern from 8am-12.30pm, this much-loved event invites locals and visitors alike to show off their furry companions in a variety of quirky and crowd-pleasing categories, including fancy dress, owner/dog look-alike, dapper senior dog, Palm Cove puppy under three and the regal Palm Cove prince and princess.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to YAPS Cairns (Young Animal Protection Society), supporting their vital work rescuing and rehoming dogs in need throughout the Far North. Entries cost $10.

Organiser Rhonda Henderson is calling on the community to get behind the event and enter your furry friend.

Member for Barron River, Bree James will also be joining the judging panel with deputy mayor Brett Olds as master of ceremonies. She said the show was “a wonderful celebration of the special bond between people and their pets”.
