Dates set for super carnival
THE 2026 Cairns Super Carnival will return to Ladbrokes Cannon Park from Friday 21 August to Saturday 29 August, the Cairns Jockey Club has announced.

The eight-day event includes three main race days: the Great Northern Brewing Co. Cairns Amateurs Day on Saturday 22 August, the Ladbrokes Newmarket Ladies Day on Friday 28 August and the Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Day on Saturday 29 August.
Jockey club general manager Cameron Riches said the carnival also featured additional social events, including the Cairns Super Carnival Launch at Reef Hotel Casino on Friday 21 August and the Ladbrokes Sportsman Luncheon, Barrier Draw and Calcutta at Ladbrokes Cannon Park on Thursday 27 August.
“The 2026 carnival will offer reimagined on-track spaces and new experiences, from general admission to exclusive corporate hospitality,” he said.
“Details of these new offerings will be released in the coming months.
“The 2025 carnival attracted 10,229 attendees across three race days and generated more than $7.3 million in total expenditure for the Cairns region, with $5.4 million contributing to the Queensland economy.
“The event also produced 11,589 visitor nights in Queensland, including 10,485 in Cairns, and brought 2188 visitors specifically to the region.
“Attendees spent $2.2 million on fashion and grooming, with 68% of overnight visitors staying in luxury accommodation.”
Public tickets for the 2026 Carnival are expected to go on sale in late January.
