Built by Contour Works, the Loridan Drive track has it all – three levels of jumps (beginner, intermediate and advanced) so riders of all ages and skill levels can find their flow.

Cr Kristy Vallely (Div. 6), who used her discretionary funds to bring the $100,000 project to life, said it was an “incredible new asset for the whole community”.

“Evan Wintour of Contour Works encourages everyone to ride to their own ability and strengths, so there’s something for all ages and skill levels,” she said.

“This one is really special for me. As a councillor, people often share their ideas with me, and this project started with a group of Brinsmead dads who asked for an upgrade to the dirt track.

“I decided to use my discretionary funds to make it happen and standing there with Evan, I was covered in goosebumps and maybe a little tear.

“After attending Crankworx, I saw just how loved this sport is by our community, so it felt fitting to create something like this right here in our division for our young people to enjoy.

“The benefits go far beyond the track itself, kids outdoors, exercising, off devices, connecting with others both younger and older. The community and mental health outcomes are huge and will have a positive impact for generations to come.’

Resident Jeff Richards said it was “awesome”.

“The original track was pushed to be built by myself and a few others that grew up in Brinsmead,” he said.

“At 12-years-old we talked to the developer of Bella Vista at the time and proposed for a track to be built.

“The developer at the time agreed and let us mark out where the jumps should be and work with the guys running the machines.”
