Cutters big win versus Hawks
DOGGIES beat Lions, Crocs victorious over Tigers, Manunda lose to Souths.

Centrals Trinity Beach Bulldogs 9.15.69 defeated Cairns City Lions 5.11.41
IF someone had told me prior to this game that the Lions would be up at half-time against the Bulldogs on Saturday, I would have raised an eyebrow and nodded politely, as the Doggies entered this game clear favourites on their home turf.
To the Lions credit they fought hard against the odds in a game that could have gone either way up until midway through the last quarter when the Doggies finally broke free and kicked away.
Ryan Banks-Smith and Kieran Lovell led the way for Centrals with 30 and 25 disposals respectively while the Dogs potent forward line saw Connor Stackelberg and Josh Butland finish with three goals apiece.
For the Lions, Daniel Charlesworth had another big game collecting 39 disposals while playing coach Scott Riordan kicked every one of the Lions goals, bagging five 5 for the afternoon.
North Cairns Tigers 4.4.28 defeated by Port Douglas Crocs 25.17.167
THE Crocs remain undefeated on top of the AFL Cairns senior ladder after easily accounting for an undermanned Tigers outfit at Watson’s Oval last Saturday.
The Crocs’ Shay Linke made a big run for the Matt Walsh Medal for the league’s leading goalkicker, bagging 10 majors in an unstoppable display up forward for Port.
That puts Linke in equal second place on the goalkicking table with last year’s winner – the Bulldogs Josh Butland and only three goals behind the Doggies’ Connor Stackelberg, who’s currently sitting on top with 51.

The Crocs’ Thomas Cantwell dominated the ruck with 50 hit outs, 38 disposals and 13 clearances while on-baller Murphy Short fed off Cantwell’s dominance to collect 38 touches, eight clearances and fiver tackles.
Jason Baird-Wunungmurra was a highlight for the Tigers using his pace and athleticism to slot three goals while the ever-reliable Darcy Keast racked up 34 disposals on a busy day for the Tigers backline.
South Cairns Cutters 24.19.163 defeated Manunda Hawks 3.6.24
ANOTHER tough day at the office for the Hawks, coming up against an in-form Cutters outfit at Fretwell Park, who took off like a rocket from the first bounce and never looked back.
The Cutters’ Lachie Armstrong collected a league high 45 disposals for round 12, supported by Ethan Bush and Finn Osborne who picked up 34 and 33 touches respectively.
In front of the big sticks, the day belonged to the Cutters Tex Korewha, who kicked them from everywhere, finishing with a game high 9 goals.
For the Hawks, co-captain Alex Rogers worked hard, collecting 23 disposals and 8 clearances with teammate Ezekial Frank finishing the day with 24 touches.
