The day began with the graduation of participants from Centacare FNQ’s School Savvy and Skilling Queenslanders for Work programs, recognising the achievements of local job seekers and the support of community and business partners.

The program then shifted to cultural connection, featuring a Japanese tea ceremony and multicultural performances, including Bhutanese dance. Tea and coffee were highlighted as shared traditions that bring people together across cultures.

The event concluded with an afternoon concert featuring multicultural dance and music, featuring 14 performances and more than 100 performers.

Centacare FNQ executive director Anita Veivers said the event provided an important platform to celebrate diversity while strengthening community ties.

“Harmony in Action Day is about bringing people together, about recognition and creating space for conversation, understanding and connection across cultures,” she said.

The event was designed to promote social cohesion and community participation, reflecting Centacare FNQ’s ongoing focus on building inclusive and connected communities in the region.
