The internationally renowned performer will headline the ‘Born To Love You’ tour, featuring Queen’s greatest hits, new visuals, lighting and audience interaction inspired by Freddie Mercury’s live performances.

Mr Crane said audiences could expect an upgraded production featuring artificial intelligence technology.

“They (the crowd) will probably expect a great light show, a great sound system, great sound and, of course, the main thing, the closest thing to Queen they’ll ever hear.”

Mr Crane, who reached the finals of Australia’s Got Talent in 2011 as a Freddie Mercury tribute artist, said recreating the legendary frontman’s energy remained physically demanding.

“The biggest challenge is keeping up with him,” he said. “It’s not easy running around and singing his songs in his keys.”

However, connecting with audiences remained central to his performances.

“We do get the crowd involved. That’s my main goal, because at the end of the day, it’s all about the fans for me,” he said.

Mr Crane said audiences regularly included older fans who had seen Freddie Mercury perform live, alongside children discovering Queen’s music.

“We were watching the kids the other night, as young as 5, 6 and 7-years-old, and they’re singing the songs word for word,” he said.

The two-hour production will feature hits such as ‘We will rock you’, ‘We are the champions’, ‘Radio ga ga’, ‘I want to break free’, Another one bites the dust and ‘Bohemian rhapsody’.

Mr Crane said the show would also feature ‘I was born to love you’, a song Freddie Mercury never performed live.

The Cairns performance begins at 7.30pm on Friday 30 October, with remaining tickets available via Ticketlink on 1300 855 835.
