Cowboys ‘holiday’ at Woree van park
NORTH Queensland Cowboys fans will have the chance to meet current players and club legends at the inaugural Cowboys Muster Weekend in Cairns this weekend.
BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Cairns Coconut will host the post-season event on 16-17 October, following the launch of a multi-year partnership between Ingenia Holiday Parks and the North Queensland Cowboys earlier this season.
Current Cowboys players will take part alongside club legends Gavin Cooper and Michael Morgan, with activities scheduled across the weekend.
The event will begin with a welcome barbecue on Friday 16 October, offering fans the chance to meet Cowboys legends.
On Saturday 17 October, young fans can take part in football clinics run by the team, followed by a pool party.
Michael Morgan said that returning to Cairns brought back memories of growing up in North Queensland.
“Growing up in Townsville, I have so many happy memories of summer days in Cairns, passing the footy around with my brothers,” said Morgan.
“It feels like a full-circle moment to now be coming back and doing the exact same thing with my wife, kids and our extended family of Cowboys fans. It’s definitely going to be one for the books, especially staying at the tropical paradise of BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Cairns Coconut.”
Other activities will include a hole-in-one mini-golf challenge, a basketball free-throw contest and a footy-themed trivia night.
Matthew Young, of Ingenia Holiday Parks, said the weekend would mark the end of the organisation’s first season together.
“We can’t wait to welcome the Cowboys to BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Cairns Coconut this October. Cowboys supporters are some of the most passionate, proud fans in the league, so it’s set to be a huge weekend,” he said.
