Douglas Shire Council has proudly partnered with Wildlife Habitat and Bike Shop & Hire PD to announce the inaugural Mother’s Day Community Ride.

Participants can choose between a 4kilometre and 10kilometre ride along designated cycle paths starting from Wildlife Habitat at 8.45AM on Sunday May 9.

A healthy hot breakfast will be served up to riders after the community ride.

Douglas Shire Council’s’s Sports & Recreation Development Officer Renee Ker said the ride was a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day.

“We encourage everyone to come along – kids, grandparents, mums, dads and friends – for a day of fitness, family and having fun,” she said.

“Wildlife Habitat will put on a delicious, healthy breakfast for all participants following the ride, and we have free cycling giveaways available – it’ll be a terrific morning.”

Bike Shop and Hire Port Douglas will offer discounted hire for those wanting to hire a bike for the ride (contact 4099 5799 to make arrangements).

The Mother’s Day Community Ride is open to local residents and visitors.
