Dr Lam will join class instructor Yoshi Ochiai to co-host the Tai Chi for Health class at 9am in Port Douglas next Tuesday, March 16.

“We are honoured to have Dr Lam in Douglas,” said Yoshi.

“We have an exciting opportunity to meet the man who has been so influential in developing Tai Chi into a widely accepted and celebrated practise to improve health and wellbeing.”

Dr Lam is a world leader in the field of Tai Chi for health improvement, now focusing on preventive health.

In 2010, Dr Lam and his colleagues established the Tai Chi for Health Institute to empower people to improve their health and wellness using the Tai Chi for Health programs.

The Tai Chi for Health programs are proven to be beneficial for mental health, arthritis and health recovery, and empower people to improve their general wellbeing.

“The Tai Chi for Health programs have helped millions of people around the world to improve their quality of life through improvements in balance, mindfulness, and energy,” said Yoshi.

“If you have ever considered doing Tai Chi, or even if you are just curious, I would encourage you to come along to the class on Tuesday, and meet the man behind the Tai Chi for Health Institute.”

Dr Lam will be co-hosting the class alongside Yoshi at 9am on Tuesday March 16 at Rex Smeal Park.

Tai Chi for Health at Rex Smeal Park and Diwan are run as part of Council’s Active8 FREE fitness programs.

Registration for Tai Chi to Health is Essential.
