Get social and find a local community group
Community groups in the Cassowary Coast play an important role in maintaining the social framework of the region while also servicing residents, rallying volunteers and providing groups to connect likeminded people for activities and cultural meets.
Councillor Trudy Tschui, who holds the portfolio for Community and Culture has recently invited community groups around the region to provide their membership forms and flyers to her in the lead up to the Mission Beach Monster Markets this coming Sunday 26 September.
“I’m pleased that quite a few community groups have been encouraged and have given their information to get involved and seek new members.
“The community will be able to find me at the Mission Beach Monster Markets this Sunday where I will be available for the entirety of the market to share flyers and signup information for the local groups.
“Residents may not be looking for a sports or crafts group, but I encourage them to come check out the information at the stall as our region has many unique groups who give back to the community in many different ways.
“The local Tree Frog Hospital are a unique group who are always seeking members to help maintain the health of our local wildlife.
“I also have information for a community sports group who meet for Pétanque games, as well as Meals on Wheels, Silkwood Red Cross, Girl Guides and the Mission Arts group,” said Councillor Tschui.
Councillor Trudy Tschui will be attending the Mission Beach Monster Markets this Sunday September 26, and will be available for the duration of the markets. She will be sharing the community groups who have handed in their information to her prior to the markets.
If any community members or community groups have any questions regarding the market stall, they can contact Councillor Trudy Tschui via phone 0457 145 983 or email Trudy.Tschui@ccrc.qld.gov.au
