Community presentations for Storm and Cyclone Season

The small coastal community of Cardwell knows only too well the devastating effects of a cyclone or major storm. Ten years ago Cyclone Yasi ripped through Cardwell causing property damage and forever altering lives.

Cardwell Community Events will hold this Tuesday their Storm Season Preparation Information Forum.

The forum is designed to heighten the community preparedness for any potential storm or cyclone.

There will be representatives from the Cassowary Coast Regional Council Disaster Management team and State and local emergency services presenting.

This forum is designed to keep the community informed on how to prepare and what to expect during storm season. 

In attendance on the night will be Tropical Vets from Ingham, Queensland Parks and  Cardwell wildlife carer. Residents attending are invited to stay behind after the formal presentation to chat with disaster management personnel as well and community organisation members.
