CAIRNS - Aplin St and McLeod St road closures
Motorists are advised that the Aplin St entry ramp to Cairns Central shopping centre will be closed next Monday and Tuesday (7 and 8 December) evenings from 7pm to 7am to allow for works associated with the installation of a new water main.
Access to the Cairns Central shopping centre will be via the Bunda St entrance or the recently opened Spence St entrance.
The works will involve the overnight road closure, from 7pm to 7am, of the following streets:
McLeod St (on the southern side of the Aplin Street intersection),
McLeod St (southbound lane between Florence St and Aplin St), and
Aplin St (westbound lane between Sheridan St and McLeod St).
During this time, temporary U-turns will be in place along McLeod St and Aplin St (as shown JPG, 0.43 MB ).
Noisy works will be unavoidable, and every effort will be made to reduce disruptions wherever possible.
Please observe and obey traffic controllers and signs advising the changes to normal traffic conditions and follow detours as sign posted.
