The event forms part of the Living Archive Project, which includes an interactive map designed as a complementary feature to an associated book and ongoing archival work.

Organiser Dr Daniela Vavrova said the launch would run over four days, marking a key milestone for the project and its documentation of local history.

The event aims to bring together residents, contributors and visitors interested in the history of Yorkeys Knob, with the interactive map providing an additional resource linked to the project.

The digital map, available online, allows users to explore elements of the Living Archive Project and is described as a work in progress.

Dr Vavrova encouraged members of the public and media to attend the launch event.

“We look forward to seeing you at the boat club”, she said.

The Living Archive Project continues to develop as a platform for preserving and sharing local stories and historical material connected to the Yorkeys Knob area.
