Clams swimming for good cause

CAIRNS Clams Masters Swimming Club will host a charity relay swim at Tobruk Memorial Swimming Pool on 4 July to raise funds for the Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation. The Clams Charity Swim Relay will run from noon to 7pm and aims to support the purchase of a bedside scanner for healthcare services in Far North Queensland.

Teams of 10 can enter the event for $100, with organisers encouraging families and clubs of all ages to take part in an afternoon of swimming, relays, raffles and fundraising.

The event coincides with American Independence Day and will include a ‘Best look-alike Donald Trump and Melania Trump’ competition.

Five of the fastest teams will advance to the finals, while a sixth team will be selected by a lucky draw.

Music will be provided throughout the day by ‘The Marias’, while Tobruk Pool’s Swell Cafe will remain open serving food, hot and cold drinks, ice cream and lollies.
