Choirs sing for a lot of joy
RESIDENTS are being invited to gather for an afternoon of music and community singing when All Saints Community Church Gordonvale hosts its Songs of Joy event on Sunday 2 August.

The sing-along follows last year’s Songs of Hope event, which was held to bring the community together through music. Organisers said positive feedback and requests to repeat the event led to this year’s gathering, which will focus on the theme of joy.
Organisers said many people were finding it difficult to experience joy in everyday life and that music could play an important role in supporting wellbeing.
“Singing with others can foster a sense of connection and belonging, which can help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.”
The program will feature performances by Soul Song Choir, Trinity Anglican School, Mulgrave Ukulele Group and Mainly Music Families, with audience members also encouraged to join in the singing.
Songs of Joy will be held at All Saints Community Church, on the corner of Church and Mill streets, Gordonvale, from 4 pm on Sunday 2 August.
