Operating since 1987, the not-for-profit centre has become a sanctuary for many navigating grief, trauma and life’s more difficult chapters.

Volunteer Eva Ronning, who has been involved with the centre since 2014, said the impact of the work was often life-changing.

“One day, a man came through our doors ready to take his own life. After speaking with us and receiving the support he needed, he left with a renewed sense of hope,” she said. “Even saving just one life is a profound blessing for us.”

The centre is a voluntary, not-for-profit and non-denominational organisation devoted to supporting the spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeing of people from all walks of life.

Its mission is to promote holistic wellness and spiritual growth through development, discussion and practice in a compassionate and inclusive environment.

Run by 15 dedicated volunteers, the centre welcomes more than 1100 people each year to weekly healing sessions, discussion circles and spiritual development classes

More than 600 readings and energy healings were delivered over the past year alone.

Former president and long-time volunteer Ms Ronning said many people arrived feeling lost, isolated or weighed down by life’s challenges.

“We don’t see people who’ve just won the lottery,” she said. “The people who come to us are often in pain, searching for comfort, connection and answers. Offering them a safe, compassionate space can make all the difference and that’s what we strive to do every single day.”

Open day organiser and assistant secretary Kiri Tuhega said the upcoming event was a celebration of inclusivity, healing and spiritual exploration, open to people of all beliefs and backgrounds. “There is no conflict between faiths at our centre, we welcome everyone,” she said.

Held from 9am to 3pm at 177 Martyn St, Manunda, the event will feature psychic, tarot and numerology readings, energy healing sessions, foot and head massages, spiritual talks, second-hand treasures, handmade poi, crystals and stalls with essential oils and baked goods. Guest speakers include Alain Psychic and Steve Spiritboy, Malcolm Bell, Megan Pascoe, and Gabrielle Bettels-Hoffmann, who will guide a collective singing session using healing sound frequencies to close the event.
