Caring for assets differently
GLOBAL engineering and project management group XBURO has launched XBURO Property and Asset Management in Cairns.

XBURO are known for their work on Cairns Hospital’s expansion project, the Prince Charles Hospital multi-storey carpark and Queensland Ballet’s Thomas Dixon Centre redevelopment.
Principal/licensee Suze Forster said it was a new service aiming to redefine how residential and commercial property assets were managed in Far North Queensland.
“With offices in Australia and the United Kingdom and a track record delivering complex infrastructure and development projects, XBURO’s decision to launch a property and asset management offering in Cairns marks a significant shift in a sector traditionally dominated by real estate agencies,” she said.
“Rather than focusing on transactions, XBURO Property and Asset Management applies expert project management and engineering-led thinking to asset oversight, combining proactive maintenance planning, technical insight and long-term performance management to commercial and residential properties.
“Most property management is reactive.
“We are a dedicated partner in growing assets. By applying technical discipline and foresight, we help owners avoid surprises, protect value and feel genuinely confident in how their property is being managed.”
Ms Forster said XBURO’s approach integrated technical specialists alongside property managers, allowing potential issues to be identified earlier and maintenance to be planned strategically, rather than addressed after failures occur.
“The result is fewer disruptions, greater asset longevity and clearer decision-making for owners,” she said.
“The launch signals a premium alternative for property and asset owners seeking more than traditional rent collection and reactive maintenance models.
“For Cairns, the launch represents the arrival of a global engineering and project management brand applying its expertise to the local property market – a move that reflects growing demand for more considered, professional asset management.”
