Careers fair at regional council
CAREER opportunities in local government will be available at Cairns Regional Council’s careers fair on Wednesday 29 July.

The free event will showcase the diverse range of careers available across council, from engineering and trades through to environmental management, planning, customer service, administration, information technology and more.
The fair will provide job seekers, students, graduates and professionals with the opportunity to explore employment pathways, meet council staff and hiring managers and gain insight into what it’s like to work for one of the region’s largest employers.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
Hear from employees who have built long and rewarding careers at council
Meet hiring managers and learn about current and future opportunities
Discover graduate, apprentice, trainee and student pathways
AdvertisementLearn about employee benefits, training and career development opportunities
Gain first-hand insight into council’s workplace culture.
Council chief executive officer Ken Gouldthorp said the fair was designed to help people better understand the careers available within local government.
“Cairns Regional Council is one of the region’s largest employers, with staff working across a broad range of professions that help deliver essential services to our community every day,” he said.
The fair is on Wednesday 29 July from 3.30pm-5.30pm on the ground floor at 119-145 Spence Street, Portsmith.
