Turners celebrates 85 years
Turners Home Appliances is celebrating 85 years of operation in Far North Queensland.
The local family-run business has been serving the region since Sydney H Turner first opened his store’s doors in 1936 and is now a third-generation business, with Sydney’s grandson Brendan at the helm.
The company prides itself on providing expert advice, high standards of customer service and
honourable business practices to the Cairns region.
“We believe in the importance of excellent customer service that keeps people coming back for more,” said Turners Home Appliances Operations Manager Brendan Turner.
“We put our success down to excellent service, an unbeatable product range and loyal customers.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of the Far North Queensland community over the past eight and a half decades,” he said.
“From our family to yours, thank you.”
Store owner Gary Turner says the importance of being locally owned and operated has always been at the forefront of how they do business.
“My father Syd always had a very firm belief that if you take care of locals, they’ll take care of you.
“He set up a great business here in Cairns and Brendan and I have worked hard to maintain that,” said Gary.
“We plan to continue taking care of Far North locals for many years to come.”
Turners provides the region with all its household appliance needs, including laundry and kitchen equipment, refrigeration and air conditioning, and home theatre and audio-visual, and now stock a range of bedding featuring Australian-made mattresses.
