Audi Australia recently held their Dealer Of The Year Awards and the Cairns team erupted in celebration when Audi Centre Cairns was announced as one of the winners for the Rural Dealer Of The Year category.

Also taking out the Business Planning and Controlling Award was an additional coup for the dealership.

These awards recognise the hard work that have been put in by the Audi team over the last twelve months in extremely challenging conditions.  Factors that influence the judges decision are customer service, market share, customer retention and achieving targets.

“We took over the dealership 3 years ago when we relocated the family up to Cairns. At that stage, the dealership was ranked in the bottom 5 nationally for customer service.  Collectively as a team, we started doing the small things. This included simply doing what we say. I am proud to work with a team of people who are passionate about looking after our customers.  Our staff, our Customers and even our suppliers in Cairns is big on supporting each other and it feels like a true Audi family community” said Dealer Principal Alan Ren.

“For me the most important thing is to support people who support us, whether that is a local hairdresser or local restaurant, it is about looking after people in Cairns so that we can grow the local community.   We also have a goodwill policy for loyal customers who have purchased their vehicles from us and always service the vehicle with us. Our loyal customers know that we have got their back!” said Mr Ren.

Alan Ren has his workspace on the showroom floor not away in an office. It is rare for a dealer principal to meet almost every new vehicle customer that walks on to the showroom floor.

Mr Ren started by creating a new culture in the organisation and this was through hiring like-minded people who were driven by the same value of delivering on their promises.

“I don’t think customer service is hard, it is about doing the basics well, genuinely care about what you do and this is easy when you surround yourself with the right people.” Said Mr Ren
