Serenitas head of development and acquisitions Patrick Noble and head of sales and marketing Holly Brennan broke ground at the new Thyme Lifestyle Resort Palm Cove, which will feature over 360 homes and a central resort-style clubhouse.

Mr Noble said the sod-turning event last week marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the region.

“Our vision for Thyme Palm Cove is to create a community where friendship and connection come naturally, surrounded by the beauty of this incredible location,” he said.

“Designed for real life, our low-maintenance homes will give homeowners more time to do what they love.

“Whether travelling, exploring, or simply relaxing, these homes are built for easy living within a secure, gated community.”

Mr Noble said that the development would also deliver lasting benefits beyond the community itself.

“Our investment in this region also offers significant benefits to local businesses, tourism and the many homeowners who will eventually call Thyme home.

“We’ve worked closely with council to design a community that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape and contributes positively to the growth and prosperity of the Palm Cove area, just as our developments have done in resort and tourism destinations like Moreton Bay, Hervey Bay, Mareeba and Canungra.”

Mr Noble said the Reefsedge Way site followed extensive collaboration with council to deliver a new lifestyle community designed for over-50s in an enviable coastal setting within walking distance to local services and amenities and less than 20 minutes’ drive from Cairns Airport.

Homes will feature coastal-inspired finishes, stone benchtops, ceiling fans and split-system airconditioning as standard. Open-plan layouts will offer a mix of two and three-bedroom options, with flexible garages, including some homes featuring RV-friendly designs.

“At Thyme, we understand that life after 50 is about enjoying more of what matters – freedom, friendships and lifestyle,” Mr Noble said.

“That’s why we design our communities with state-of-the-art facilities and homes in locations where people truly want to live. Thyme Palm Cove will be the perfect place to embrace this next chapter with confidence and connection.”

The Thyme Lifestyle Resort Palm Cove sales office is now open at 71 Williams Esplanade, Palm Cove.

Nearby, developer Darren Halpin is building a $235 million water park and resort which includes giant slides, splash zones, luxury cabins and caravan sites, with the aim of opening at Easter 2027. The first two stages are costed at $188m.

The broader Palms precinct will include homes, Thyme Palm Cove and a new commercial hub.
