Botanical beats for jazz night
JAZZY sounds will fill the Cairns Botanic Gardens after dark next week as Jazz Under the Stars returns to Flecker Gardens on Saturday.
Organised by Friends of the Botanic Gardens, Jazz Under the Stars will run from 5.30pm to 9pm. It is one of the final events of the Cairns Festival. and aims to raise funds for enhancements to the Botanic Gardens.
This year’s entertainment, courtesy of the Cairns Tropical Jazz Club, will feature Silver Fox Jazz Band, Tropical Brass, Bernies Jazz Quintet and Raconteurs – 7 Piece Band.
Tickets are $20 for adults, while children aged 14 and under can attend for free. Tickets can be booked online through TryBooking, otherwise tickets are also available at the gate.
Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic, a rug and/or a chair, and extra cash for a monster raffle.
Raffle prizes include top-quality hotel and restaurant experiences, rare specialty plants and other prizes worth more than $200 each.
